Catapulting him to global visibility, Robert Eldridge’s distinct style of “eclectic and mental guitar music” is both thought-provoking and memorable. Gaining the attention of industry tastemakers, he's been featured by such notable outlets as NPR and PBS as a solo artist.

Over his 20+ year career, Robert has opened for major and legendary acts like Arlo Guthrie, Acoustic Alchemy, Gato Barbieri, Buddy Miles (former drummer of Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsy) and Stanley Jordan, as well as other national and regional artists like Kathy Mattea, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Opie Gone Bad, Craig Chaquico, Michael Lington, and Disappear Fear.    

Robert’s musical journey began in Charleston, West Virginia, where he started playing guitar at age 14. His musical mom welcomed the much quieter alternative to the drums he received for his 13th birthday. He began taking lessons from a classical guitar teacher, and was so determined to learn the Fernando Sor guitar method that even racial comments from his teacher couldn’t derail him. When his mother found out, she took action immediately and moved him into his next musical education with a hippie Muffy, who also performed in her Sunday morning folk group at Sacred Heart. She taught him strumming patterns for folk music, which contributed to the foundation of his eclectic style today. 

With a deep love of music, Robert worked in college at a music shop teaching guitar, selling guitars, delivering pianos, and expanding his musical network. He played with various duos, trios and band projects during and after college, including a year-long stint with a quasi-jazz and rock fusion group. 

Robert’s infamous instrumental sound was captured in his first solo project “Eclectic and Mental Guitar Music Volumes 1 & 2” in 2004. With a vision to bring his unique style to life, he recorded the project partially live at Einstein's Brother Bagel with the help of Eric Shively. Previously, he released a variety of projects beginning with "Two Seasons of the Cerebellum” featuring several Morgantown musicians and recorded at Frozen Sound Studios under engineer/producer Kim Monday. After moving to Denver in 1993, Robert released two CD’s with folk-rock band Zeut. 

Over the years, Robert’s passion for live audiences has led to his performances at intimate venues, for large festival crowds, and at many other musical favorites like the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado.
